94L to move NW

#1 Postby golter » Wed Sep 22, 2004 1:47 pm

It appears that 94L will move NW to NNW in the next 12 hours or so. High in eastern US looks like it will allow 94 to move over LA and then North. Shear appears to be inplace all the way to 92W. I dont see any further development.

The afternoon tropical discussion from NHC says it is moving west.

Satellite does show a northwest component but isn't it true that these developing systems sometimes relocate centers?

hmm, thats weird. I guess its going to punch right through the ridge to the North?? Im thinking a Freeport, Tx to New Iberia, LA event. Same as the NWS. We need to wait for recon at 2pm to get exact position and direction. It still looks west to me....

Did you even look at the link? Ridge to the North, where? The high pressure ridge is to the NE of the low. Heres a look at a few models.

They too see it going to the NW.

UKMET is over 12 hours old and yes BAMM does have it moving NW then N. There is not any great ridge to the north. If there were, then why isnt the outflow to the North impeaded at all. The high ridge runs from FL/GA Border NW up to NE Arkansas and then heads north...
