building in over Florida then why are the pressures falling? Any ideas?

Because the cane is low pressure and getting closer and closer to the bouys.

Even though a high is building over florida that will cause pressures to rise, but you need to also remember you do have a big tropical system not to far away from you with lower pressures and as that gets closer to the flordia coast the pressure will continue to fall.

Surface pressure is falling because there is a Hurricane approaching the state and there was / is a weak trough over the state this AM. The pressure at the surface does not necessarily relate to the mid and upper level pressures. Typically (I Think and am no expert) that it is the 500 MB (Mid) level of the Atmosphere where the winds steer low level low pressure systems. If I am wrong someone let me know or explain better.

Explain to my knees again why the pressure is falling.

:)

Frances killed my knees. The pressure drop is easily felt.
