local mets saying this is not related to heavily to jeane. local radar seems to show it is already dissapating

Local met just said this was not related to Jeanne but a small Meso-Low that is pushing inland from the Atlantic. The waterspout/tornado was short-lived and probably disapaited by now according to the news.

oddly enough it seems to be on the backside of the squall line. noaa confirms that a waterspout moved onshore near mayport.. i think the radar was on a different loop when it looked to be gone

Severe Weather Statement National Weather Service Jacksonville FL 705 PM EDT Fri Sep 24 2004

... A Tornado Warning Continues Until 730 PM EDT For East Central Duval County...

At 657 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler Radar Continued To Indicate A Tornado. This Tornado Was Located Near Neptune Beach... Or About Near Jacksonville Beach... Moving Southwest At 20 Mph.

Other Locations In The Warning Include But Are Not Limited To San Pablo.

When A Tornado Warning Is Issued Based On Doppler Radar... It Means That Strong Rotation Has Been Detected In The Storm. A Tornado May Already Be On The Ground... Or Is Expected To Develop Shortly. If You Are In The Path Of This Dangerous Storm... Move Indoors And To The Lowest Level Of The Building. Stay Away From Windows. If Driving... Do Not Seek Shelter Under A Highway Overpass.

Report Severe Weather Or Damage To The Nearest Law Enforcement Agency Or Your County Emergency Management... Or You Can Call The National Weather Service In Jacksonville Directly At 800-499-1594 To Report Severe Weather.
