Panhandle Prepare.........
The only three Hurricanes to come ashore in the southern half of Florida in the last 50 yrs on a mostly west course have been Erin in 95, Andrew in 92 and Frances and you know the rest. They all made a second landfall along the upper Gulf coast, Frances doing so on a much more wnw to nw movement. I'm expecting Jeanne to impact the Panhandle probably east of Panama City as a possible minimal hurricane!

Hey Dean From Panama Cit,
If this northward turn doesn't begin soon I'm might be inclined to agree with you. My wife is down in Gainesville and my daughter is at the Swamp as we speak (for the UF / UK game). I'm sure you have watched our local mets, one basically said not much to worry about and the other one hinted that it may be a Frances type scenario with Jeanne entering the NE GOM and landfalling a 2nd time somewhere between St. Marks and Carrabelle. I'm definitely going to be watching this afternoon, but so far none of the networks ie; Fox, TWC, CNN have even mentioned this scenario. Going to be interesting to say the least. Take care over there in Destin, I was over there and the FWB area Thurs and you guys got hammered pretty bad.
