I assume that they mean 130kt in D, not 30 kt.??????? :eek:

No... that's right. The 30 kt is the ESTIMATE of surface winds where the plane is when the message is sent. Why would it say 130 kt(150 mph) when the strongest surface winds are around 100 kt(115 mph)?

That entry is for the surface winds at the time the vortex is written up. In this case:

Estimated Surface Winds Were Measured 111nm (127.65miles) From Center At Bearing 138
