Jeanne Slowing Down?!

#1 Postby THead » Sat Sep 25, 2004 3:16 pm

Tell me I'm seeing things. Looking at long range and short range radar, seems to have almost stopped. If this thing does a Frances I will just snap!

Well, I cant get the radar to load, but if she was slowing down, it could possibly be as a result of her making that turn.

I think she may be slowing - but she's still moving. Put your cursor on the left edge of the eye at the start of the loop. At the end of that loop, your cursor is sitting just inside the clear eye area. She's certainly not zipping along anymore.

Good point

This is where the internet becomes the mis-information superhighway.

HW, I know its a short loop, but I've been watching it seemingly forever...and this last hour is much different movement, or lack of movement......something has changed or is in the process of changing, IMO.

Funny. Like I said, I've been watching it all day, and you can notice the movement over an hour period easily, it is not the same this last hour. Give it another hour and we'll see for sure what's up.

Using radarlab from weathertap...I measured that it moved 18 miles in 1.5 hours (20 frames). That's 12 kts...which is what it has been moving. So...no slow-down.
