D Ortt and ETA Are Looking Pretty Good Right Now!

#1 Postby NFLnut » Sun Sep 26, 2004 12:55 am

Derek Ortt has nailed it again. Whether Jeanne goes as far into GOM as his track I don't know, but this Cane isn't showing any sign of making that rumored N/NW turn. The NHC has been trying desperately to push this thing North and West for the last 16 hours, but they have been totally wrong so far.

The ETA is also looking a little more credible, as it echoes Derek's track.

Yea, I was just listening to Geraldo and that station saying something to the effect that this could totally mimic Frances or Charley. Either or.

I agree.

I had shown his track to people who had laughed at me. They know i have a great deal of experience and weather knowledge, but they have one track minds.
For entities like the NHC I would expect a little more from them. They continually such as in the 11pm advisory are attempting to intialize jeanne moving wnw... but she remains just barely a smidge north of westerly.
All the people that I showed Derek's track to... they all scoffed that the NHC track is off the coast, not even hitting the florida coast directly (ie. no landfall).

Florida is in hurricane shock... The majority of people I know from Palm Beach to south dade, all were at least slightly prepared, but, they took this storm very lightly... i think they simply didn't want to acknowledge another hurricane was offshore heading their way.

Yeah the NHC is not doing to well on this one right now. I know it will "eventually" turn northward but it won't be where they forecasted it to. Hey at least the got the state right?
