It's Getting NASTY outside Here

#1 Postby seaswing » Sun Sep 26, 2004 2:36 pm

I'm NW of Gainesville, getting really windy right now. Surprisingly, I still have power but will knock on wood. The gusts are getting stronger. Local Mwt said expect the beginning of real weather about 4 pm. Got my plywood up this morning, feeling much better about that! Already, I have heard some debris hit them. Holding up in my bedroom with three cats on the bed and my puppy taking a snooze in the bathroom.....During Frances, I sat on my enclosed porch quite a bit, don't feel like doing that this time. Haven't heard many transformers blow yet, really only one a couple of hours ago but it is getting darker outside and the roar is getting louder with each band..... maybe 50 mi/hr gusts right now.....cable went out an hour ago so relying on the web for now. Anyone else in the n. central Fl area feeling what I'm feeling??????

Just talked to my sister in Newberry (W of Gainseville). They have wind and rain from the ESE, and they still have power. The edge of the circulation is over them, and I told her it looks like the big hole in the rain will be over them soon so she can let the dog out! Karen
