Have FPL & Bell South in Royal Palm Beach

#1 Postby sprink52 » Mon Sep 27, 2004 12:43 pm

Man we took a beating but nothing like our friends in Martin, St. Lucie & Indian River Counties. We were on generator for about 12 hours and then got FPL back about 3 PM Sunday. The back side of Jeanne was wicked from about midnight thru 4:30 AM Sunday. Thank God we live in a solid poured concrete house with a tile roof!! We drove around thru the Acreage and Loxahatchee in the Tahoe yesterday afternoon and there is a lot of flooding and not a shingle roof without some damage. I have not seen a tile roof yet with major damage. My screen enclosure over the pool is bent about 18" to the North now. It will be a tear down & rebuild. We lost about 5 more pine trees but the house is perfect. We heard things hitting the storm shutters all night Saturday, I'm glad I have them.

By the way, we don't want to do this again any time soon!! 8-)

There is extensive flooding out in Jupiter Farms also. Water is slowly receding but its going to take a long time. The ground is totally saturated and there is nowhere for the water to go. Better stock up on mosquito repellant. In a couple of days its going to be horrible.
