Glad you are okay, and you are in the right frame of mind, looking at how lucky you are. I know that doesn't make it any less disturbing, but the positive attitude makes the drips on your head less painfull.

I sympathise bro.
I am up here in north central Fla and we did not get clobbered like you did, but the lack of electricity really is the worst! I was out 8 days after Francis but got lucky with Jeanne with it being turned on this afternoon.
It was really hot and humid today with the heat index at 107 at 8 PM according to the TV. You can handle no running water, no aircond but just a breeze or a battery powered fan would be a dream to millions of Floridians right now..
Lying on sweat soaked sheets, wishing for the slightest breeze to come through the window and knowing that your heat indexes inside your house will bottom out around 90 at sunrise gets old fast. And I live in a shaded house beneath big trees. I pity those in the open sun in metal mobile homes!
It allways seems to get so hot after Hurricanes cause the winds come out of the SW which is our hottest summer weather.

I'll drink to that! I've had enough, still without power but the neighbors across the street got it back 2 days ago. That's enough to really rub it in but we are very lucky and will continue to count our blessings everyday for having a roof over our heads. And speaking of roof, I'm so glad we had a new one put on just last year! I have several neighbors with roof damage wishing they would not have put it off. People in the area seem to be getting power back quicker which is a wonderful testament to the local FPL crews and all of the crews from other places helping us out! Cheers to all of them!!
