Insurance Services Office, Inc.'s Property Claim Services estimated insured losses from Hurricane Charley at $6.8 billion and from Frances at $4.4 billion. Preliminary estimates from modeling firms project insured losses from Hurricanes Ivan and Jeanne in the $4 billion to $7 billion range for each storm.

The NHC's policy is to double the damage claims. Of course, the following data indicates what the storm damages are for the US only. This does not include damage to other nations.

Charley: $13.6B
Frances: $8.8B
Ivan: $8-14B
Jeanne: $8-14B

However, this are all estimates at this time...

I think Ivan's gonna be on the higher side of those estimates - perhaps ever greater.

No matter how you look at it, the damage from all these hurricanes in costs are going to be amazingly high.

Hugo has been in the top 2 since he struck.

He was the cosliest storm from end of 1989 season to end of 1992 season.

he has been the #2 cosliest storm from end of 1992 to end of 2004.

all 4 of these storms will be more expensive than Hugo

I saw one real estate appraiser say that he thought the damage was at least $10b. He had toured the AL coast, not the FL coast.
