I am baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!

I cannot even begin to thank you all enough for the wonderful support that you have given me these past two weeks while my computer was down. Due to your continued generosity, support, prayers, and being there for me when I needed you most; I have FINALLY managed to get my computer fixed and I am FINALLY back online with my regular computer with a REGULAR setup!! :) :D ;)

I cried so much when I got it working again. I don't care if the neighbors heard me or not  , I was just so happy and elated that this ordeal is finally over. Although it looks like a lot of my personal files may be lost (as my CD backup is rather old); the rest is pretty much recoverable. :)

This being after I have said a few thousand swear words (no joke), broken my slide out desk drawer, broken the antenna off my phone, slammed doors left and right, broken a slat off of my blinds, put a dent in my wall from throwing the phone against it so hard...

Joshua - I'm sure those in Florida w/o power for weeks might know a little of how you feel. I take time for trips, even though I can easily check email from my husband's laptop, but I intentionally take that break. To have a break thrown upon you, one you did not ask for, I can't imagine! I was w/o a computer for a mere 3 days last week (husband needed it for a convention), but that sounds like nothing compared to what you went thru! All we did was plug it back in....but when it's gone, you realize how much you depend upon it. I read news online, check wx forecasts (used to know a local station's wx hotline # for that years ago), look up recipes, do banking, write to people I used to call more or send snail mail notes to. So much that you really don't realize how a computer is an extention of your daily habits until you it's out of commission!

Glad you're back.

Mary

Yep, during all three hurricane power outages, I was computerless. The first was the worst, felt like someone had cut off my right arm. I never realized until then how much I depended on the internet for all of my information, starting with the news each morning.

Nope. I just covered it up with some Colgate toothpaste (as it is the same color as my wall) so I won't get in trouble. It's where the front door opens up at so it can be covered rather easily ;) .

More Great News!

I got my other hard drive working, so that means I have NOT lost any of my files! :) I cannot begin to tell you all how happy I am about this change in fortune for me. If it wasn't for you guys and my grandpa, his wife; and especially my mom (who took me to get the CD's), I would still be a pesky little crabapple.
