I'm a clutz, spraining my ankles a lot. 10 years ago a sprain was actually a fracture, needed a cast after it didn't quite heal after 10 days....my last ankle sprain was 3 months ago, while walking the dog. And I vowed it would be last. Then a month ago I dropped a plate on my foot, one toe turned black and blue. I thought oh no, here we go again. How can something so small hurt so much? It wasn't broken, but I know how ya feel John. Ice and elevate it if it's still painful. Try to not re-bump it, on a doorway or getting in and out of bed. My youngest daughter has had 3 fractures and between the two of us, I don't know who's more accident prone - her or I? Sometimes I just say you know what I'm going to sit here and not budge. Steps are my downfall, so now I go down them very slowly. Be nice now now, I'm not ready for that nursing home yet.....you should see me in an ice storm! I do not trust a sidewalk, I will go way out of my way, on grass and ground before I ever attempt a smooth surface. My kids die laughing but since I can turn my ankles easily, I'm most of the time careful about where I walk now.
Hope ya feel better soon.
