At link above you can read the latest update from NOAA.

Dont expect more than what it is now in terms of el nino going strong like the 1982-1983 or the 1997-1998 episodes.

Luis,

It's a very good discussion. I fully agree with you that the current El Niño will not rival the super Niños of 1982-83 and 1997-98. I expect this will prove to be a weak El Niño and more of the Central Pacific variety than a basin-wide El Niño.

That kind of setup is a classic for cold in the Eastern third-to-half of the USA and warm in the Western quarter-to-third of the USA during the upcoming winter.

I read in a book at Barnes and Noble that the next "Super" El Nino will happen sometime between 2010 and 2013.

Hmmm Never heard of a Super...There must be a few Nasty Canes those years..lol.. :eek:

Sounds like alot of hot water..I guess it is in the EPAC though..
