Matthew looks to be gaining strength..and it also looks like the main convection and winds will clip the SE Coast of LA and make it into the Florida Panhandle.....
We have terrible Ivan damage here in and around Navarre. Can somebody give me an update as to what they think the current shear might do to limit or further aid intensification and when we might expect the weather to start going downhill here...
Matthew, Stronger on it's Approach...

Hey Chris, looks like Pensacola eastward will see some squalls with gusts maybe to 40mph and some heavy rain beginning later today and into tomorrow. The center of Mathew is not the important thing, all of it's heaviest convection and winds are on the north to east side of the center extending out 150 miles or so.

I was just checking out the floater infrared loop and it looks like Matthew's trying to suck some moisture up from the Bay of Campeche. Does anyone else see that happening? Or am I seeing things? (Possible with a raging sinus infection!) I guess what I'm concerned about is, if he does start sucking up more moisture, that this rain even could be longer than they are predicting. That it could go beyond tomorrow. Any thoughts on this?
