Gary Allan's wife dead, concerts cancelled

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Mon Oct 25, 2004 3:40 pm

Someone just emailed me and asked if it was true. The report she heard was that his wife shot herself. I haven't found verification about that, but it's sad nevertheless.

Yes, it is true according to MCA Nashville, Allan's record company.

I can't imagine what he's going through. The whole thing is being kept relatively quiet though...

Yes it is. I know what he is going through, having been through it once... and nearly again this year. It is a very painful and emotional time for him. Prayers to him and his family and others during this hard time of grief.

What? Incredibly Stupid? How so? Be careful with your response... not to threaten or bash you... the reason why I say that is because I have depression and have been at times suicidal, as well have lost one friend to suicide, and nearly another had she not been saved in time. She was my best friend and ex-girlfriend. Sorry for the OT rant here... :D

(and I have no clue why I just said some of this stuff on here... but I guess it further shows the heartache and the traumatic events I have gone through in the past year... :( :( )

I have also had a suicide attempt in my life. I also have clinical depression but with Treatment.

What I was trying to say was it is an incredibly stupid way to die. Some people who have commited suicide have done it for reasons that are stupid (Some boy or girl doens't love them, Halle-Bopp Comet passes overhead)

In this case, I am willing to bet that she wasn't stupid at all but highly depressed.

Well, I don't know the reasons here... but I can tell you that the one of my friends that completed suicide shot himself. We may never know what drove her to do this.

Ah, it seems we have a few things in common... unfortunately...

Such a terrible and tragic thing. :(

Depression runs in my family. My dad, my brother and I have it. I haven't ever tried to kill myself but have wished that I would just die. My brother is a different story. After his car accident 14 years ago where his best friend was killed but he survived (barely), he's been suicidal.

He's been on and off medication because of side effects but has been taking his new medicine for about 6 months and is doing better. I call him alot to make sure he's not getting any thoughts about killing himself.

Matt I hope you're doing better these days, I haven't talked to you in a while. :) Michael, hello and I hope the same for you. :)

Me too believe it or not. Thought about jumping off a bridge onto a toll road 200 feet below when I was back in high school. Thankfully I never did and I am still here today. :)

I wouldn't call it stupid but selfish and senseless.

Recent news reports confirm that she died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Whether it was intentional or not, they still don't say.

Thank you so very much. I am MUCH better than I was back in the day. It's a scary, dark hole to be in though.
