Logging out......
logging out......until next Wednesday, if I can resist the urge to pop in here. You see canegrl's topic about Election Day and another topic strongly encouraging me to vote next Wednesday, has prompted this decision.
I know who I'm voting for. I will not waver in that decision.
Funny, when I joined Storm2K, nowhere on the registration page did it say this site is so heavily Republican!
If you're a Dem, you are truly outnumbered here.
And now in the Daily Show/Jon Stewart tradition.....where did I put my bong.....
Just kidding - that was SARCASM folks......BUT my blood is starting to boil, so if I want to remain "Miss Mary" and not my second choice for a nic "Hail Mary".....I think I'd better log off until next week.....I suspect this place is gonna get mighty ugly before it gets nice again. And so I am taking a break....because I just don't like to play dirty.
And before I go, all I have to say is if you are a registered voter, please VOTE. See, I'm not telling you where, when or who to vote for! Just please vote! Thank you.....

Here are two polls I found in reference to this: Who will win the election... | What is your political affiliation?
................................Here is one from July 18th: Current: Bush or Kerry?

More important than your party affiliation is the fact that you are voting. I think when I was much younger I rowed the boat with my left arm, but after Vietnam, I've been using the right. I've campaigned for some terrific politicians and some scoundrels...and I've voted for people who are today in jail. I've also voted for people who have gone on to become very good leaders.
I'd not stand before anyone and try to convince someone that either of the candidates is something he isn't this time...and believe me, if we could take the best of each man and combine them into one...we'd still need a third from someone else to make a really strong candidate.
Republican I will vote.
And when it is over...and it will eventually end, we need to find ways to divert all the anger and disappointment into something more positive.
I suspect the country will be angry for quite a while.
Just hope we don't have to live it inside Storm2k's walls when it is over.

You guys!!! I'm breaking my vow then returning next week.....you missed my point! I do stay out of the political forum! It was when I saw two topics start up right here on the off topic forum (politically driven) that I said that's it, I'm taking a break! Save for some remote backwoods cabin in Alaska, it seems nowhere is political endorsement free until next week....
So my decision had nothing to do with the political forum. I enjoy my time here on the off topic forum but when someone is telling me when to vote, it's see ya time....
Just want to clear that up!!!

My thoughts on my political party are very strong...but most of you don't even have a clue on who or what I stand for...I keep my politics as a personal thing for the most part, with emails and debating only amongst those I am closest to. You can save many friendships by acting in this way. Even the nicest of folks seem to get really nasty in pushing their politics, or in some cases even the nicest of folks seem to get bent out of shape when the other party throws stuff out there that they don't agree with...so my stance is stand up for who I am voting for(not neccesarily out in the open), be very clear on why I am voting for this person, make sure that he or she most represents how I want my country to be for the next 4 years, and basically not bother anyone with my opinion. We all need to research candidates ourselves, and not read into any particular persons slant on the candidates...just how I do things...
