URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 881
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
1100 PM CST MON NOV 22 2004

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

SOUTHWEST TEXAS

EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING FROM 1100 PM UNTIL
500 AM CST.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 105 STATUTE MILES EAST AND
WEST OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES NORTH OF BIG SPRING TEXAS TO 35 MILES
SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF FORT STOCKTON TEXAS.

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.
PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING
WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE
WARNINGS.

DISCUSSION...THUNDERSTORMS/SUPERCELLS EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN
INTENSITY AND COVERAGE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT ACROSS SW TX...IN EXIT
REGION OF 70+ KT SWLY MID LEVEL JET MAX ASSOCIATED NW MEXICO UPPER
VORT. STRENGTHENING DEEP SHEAR AND ABSENCE OF STRONG LOW LEVEL
CONVERGENCE SHOULD SUPPORT A FEW SUSTAINED...DISCRETE SUPERCELLS
WITH HAIL. BACKED LOW LEVEL WINDS AND INCREASING MOISTURE
INFLOW/RELATIVELY HIGH TERRAIN MAY ALSO SUPPORT A TORNADO OR
TWO...ESPECIALLY LATER TONIGHT/EARLY TUESDAY FROM MAF ESE TO SJT.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 400.

True, but mainly because of this as stated in the SPC Watch discussion above:
