Depends upon what type of headache it is.

A bag of crushed ice or frozen peas works great for vascular headaches. Excedrin or an aspirin with a Coke (or other caffeinated drink) works most of the time for me. And then there's the old acupuncture-like remedy of pinching/squeezing the skin between your thumb and forefinger of your dominant hand for about 3 minutes. I'm not sure why it works (most of the time) but it does. Even when it doesn't totally cure it, it relieves the pain as you're doing it.

Edit -- one more thing, lay down and close your eyes in a quiet room. Noise and light don't help if it's a migraine.

that's what it's beginning to feel like. no place to lie down in the office and no ice or peas. drats! i dont drink coke anymore but will try the aspirin with iced tea when i get home.

the pressure point thing works really well, but makes me look a bit neurotic. i dont care. i'm saving them from being eviscerated...

I agree with others - Excedrin works great. Vanquish works well too, but it's hard to find (recently noticed my local Walgreens carries it).

Similar to Coke, I swear by Pepsi and pretzels. Saltines would be a second choice for salty snack.

And finally, when mine are baaaad, I want to stick my head in the freezer! If I'm driving around, I blast my face with A/C, even in winter, if I'm having a bad one.

Hope it's better tonight Alicia.

well, it's tuesday and still throbbing a little bit. the hubby was less than courteouson the way home, radio blaring, complaining all the way home(not unusual) and decided to start a spat this morning. threw his lunch at him and drove by myself to work.

wow, i feel a little better already!

I have a prescription for Fioricet, which works pretty darn good.

Eat raw garlic --- helps with the headache and keeps the husband away.

Half the people I know in FL have been having headaches the past week. Must be something blooming.
