#1 Postby Brent » Tue Nov 30, 2004 7:05 pm

NWS finally did a survey, worse than I thought.

0658 AM TORNADO 10 N TALLADEGA 33.58N 86.10W
11/24/2004 F2 TALLADEGA AL AMATEUR RADIO

AN F2 TORNADO TOUCHDOWN IN THE VICINITY OF THE TALLADEGA
SUPERSPEEDWAY. TWO CONCESSION STANDS WITHIN THE INFIELD
AREA HAD THEIR ROOFS BLOWN OFF. THE BUSH RACING GARAGE
AREA RECEIVED BUILDING DAMAGE AND BOWING OUT OF GARAGE
DOORS. DEBRIS WAS SCATTERED BETWEEN THIS GARAGE AREA AND
VICTORY LANE. ONE DIGITAL LEADER BOARD WAS COMPLETELY
DESTROYED AND ANOTHER ONE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED.

&&
AS THIS TORNADO CONTINUED TO MOVE NORTHEAST...OVER 60 TREES WERE
DOWNED AND SHEET METAL WRAPPED AROUND ONE TREE AS THIS TORNADO
APPROACHED INTERSTATE 20. AS THIS TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST AS IT
MOVED INTO THE EASTABOGA AREA BEFORE EXITING THE COUNTY...IT CAUSED
TWO HOME ROOFS TO BE DAMAGED...TWO PORCHES DESTROYED...AND MULTIPLE
TREES DOWN. PATH LENGTH OF THIS TORNADO WAS 5 MILES LONG WITH A WIDTH
OF 500 YARDS.

I used to live 15 miles east of there. :eek:
