Looks like the cold weather will be in place to support frozen precip, just depends on where the low tracks. This is our classic setup though for snow.

Accuweather forecasting Ice in Panama city (where I will be) Christmas Eve Night And the NWS office in Tallahassee sounded promising....

Code: Select all

.LONG TERM...FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
MAIN CONCERN IS CHANCE OF PRECIP FRIDAY NIGHT INTO CHRISTMAS DAY...&
TYPE. GFS BECOMING MORE CONSISTENT WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF LOW OVER
THE WESTERN GULF & RIDING IT ACROSS THE NORTHERN GULF WITH
ISENTROPIC LIFT REACHING THE CWA. AT THIS TIME...CRITICAL THICKNESS
VALUES (SURFACE TO 700MB) WOULD SHOW LIGHT RAIN POSSIBLY CHANGING TO
LIGHT SNOW TOWARD MORNING AS COLD ADVECTION IS IN PLACE...& MORNING
LOW TEMPS EXPECTED IN THE LOWER 20S. COORDINATED WITH KMOB ON LIGHT
RAIN POSSIBLY CHANGING TO LIGHT SNOW. ACCUMULATIONS VERY UNCERTAIN &
WILL NOT MENTION AT THIS TIME.

GFS model for Tallahassee :)
