"Lord of the Rings" star to reign as Bacchus

Actor Sean Astin, who was one of the stars in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, will reign as Bacchus in 2005, the krewe announced Tuesday.
Astin, who was also the lead in the movie “Rudy,” will help Bacchus keep with its football theme.
Bacchus is slated to roll on Super Bowl Sunday, February 6.
Astin follows fellow “Rings” star Elijah Wood, who reigned in 2004.
