soundings are looking more favorable than forecast and I cannot deny the strong plume aimed at from the SW.

Still dry from the surface to about 4500ft, so much evaporation will take place.

Cloud deck is lowering this evneing and all sites are now OVC.

Watch the radar and surface obs overnight, that will tell the tale.

Will do, Jeff. I'm just grateful that my folks arrived safely in College Station earlier this evening. Wouldn't like them having to drive the last leg of the very long drive from Central FL in this weather!

I'll be keeping an eye on Houston's weather this weekend--if for no other reason than my kids are VERY jealous that their cousin's in SE Texas (of all places) will be seeing frozen precip this Christmas--and they won't ( we're in GA and they never have seen a snowy Christmas)! ;)
