My great grandfather

#1 Postby Cookiely » Fri Dec 24, 2004 6:04 am

Can anyone tell me if there is a link to weather reports for 1942? I am doing genealogy on my family and my great grandfather supposedly died from exposure during a snow storm. It was several days before they found him and his body was only several hundred yards from his home. My grandmother told me that he was robbed and murdered. The death certificate just says he died apx. Feb 22, 1942 "found dead in a field covered with snow supposedly to have died suddenly no signs of violence". My grandmother says he always carried a large amount of money and none was found (moonshiner). He died in Robeson County NC near Lumberton. I would like to find information on the weather during this time period to add to the family history. Thank you.
