Cautiously Optimistic...

#1 Postby TheShrimper » Mon Jan 03, 2005 8:28 pm

...here in SW Fla. Weather is forecasted to see daytime highs in the 80's, the lows not to dip below 60 here along the coast for the next 10 days at the minimum. If we can follow up that time frame with a couple weeks of non deviation (crossing fingers), we may have dodged winter's bullet for the season here. Hopefully that will be the case. But I do remember explicitly, waking up to mid 30's temperatures in a tent, in the infield at Daytona International Speedway during Speedweek for the 500 in mid Feb. Hopefully, for us and all of Fla, this continued pattern will be realized.
40 days and counting till the 500.

Yea looks like this winter so far is a dud. But it has known to come back with a vengeance. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a hard freeze for much of Florida in late January or early February.

I know we've seen temps as low as that for Florida in the past, but there's just something not right with using "30 degrees" and 'Florida" in the same sentence.

The Florida State Fair comes to Tampa late January and early February. It seems like 99% of the time, it is miserable cold and windy. Last year we lucked out- Ha Ha- I thought I was going to have a heat stroke. It seems like there is no middle ground.
