Good Morning everyone!!! Winds are pretty gusty here-unfort. my wind vein is frozen solid so I can't measure wind chill or speed!! Supp. to have wind chills running about 5 below 0 later today-it will be cold.
Final thoughts on this storm: Will try to be coherent, but my kids are chomping at the bit. We will prtob. have one more round of sleet/snow as there is some precip. developing to my south west-I will be on the Northern edge of it. KC looks to get another inch or two-me prob. one more inch with about 3/4 inch of ice. I would give me C- for my call-The ice here didn't accumalate as much as I thought nor will we have the snow on the backside I thought. 2 main problems: 1. temps. not as cold at the out set as I thought so we didn't quie accumalate as fast ( a good thing) 2. I was still thinking I was in KC and they many times will get more on the back side than Lawrence-why Lawrence averages almost 3 inches less precip a year than KC. Thus, my snow/sleet call of 2-4 will not happen (unless the radar really lites up!!!) All in all a powerfull storm that still needs to be taken seriously esp. to my east!!
Looking ahead-got a quick look at the models this morning: looks like 2 cold days, then a massive war up-think Saturday is a little overdone with the ice/snow all around-our local met in Lawrence is calling for 50's-I'd say lower 40's with 50 a possibility by Sunday and esp. Monday as we are in a sw flow again. Attention then looks to next Wed. as both the gfs and euro bring down some arctic for a couple of days-this as with everything is transient and we warm up quickly by a week from Saturday, but it is something to watch. The pattern continues: 2-3 cold winter days, followed by 5 moderate days, followed by 2-3 cold days. Have a great day and stay safe-I'm off to play with the boys-I'll try and post later, but I'm not sure if the time will be available!! Love to play in the ice/snow with my kids!!! This has been great following this storm!!
