Worried traveler?

#1 Postby Guest » Wed Jan 05, 2005 10:37 am

Hello everyone, and happy new year to all!

I'm traveling to Dallas Jan 11-13 and was hoping that the polar outbreak will hold off until I return home, what do you think forecasters?

Should I pack shorts and enjoy the flight,

or should pack a heavy coat and take a valium due to frozen wings

I don't like to fly, unless its a video game. :D

The NWS forecast just barely goes into your timeframe(Tuesday the 11th), but it shows above normal temperatures and nice weather then. Low 50's for Lows, Upper 60's for Highs. I think the cold outbreak will be later, probably by 5-10 days.

Alright!

I've been sweating about this since almost a week ago when you guys started forecasting the big blast coming in mid January. I really do look to this forum more than the NWS for inside info and you guys are usually much more accurate due to all the opinions coming together as one.

Thanks

I'm thinking there will be a big storm sometime between the 15th and 20th(possible severe weather, snow in the Plains and Midwest) and then the cold air will come in behind it.

If you're flying in/out of DFW, watch for major delays as they are impacted by the weather at other airports. I'd bring extra clothes just in case, and extra food! Nothing like being delayed at DFW longer than it would talk you to drive home anyway!
