U.S blamed for tsunami??

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Wed Jan 05, 2005 5:26 pm

Here I was, just clicking around on NBC.com to read up on my favorite shows. I saw a link on the Law & Order page with a tribute to Jerry Orbach, so I clicked it. It took me to the MSNBC site where there's another link to the video. On the video window, there's a menu of other videos that they have and one said, "U.S. blamed for tsunami." I can't believe what I'm hearing.

They think WE caused the quake and tsunami with nuclear testing?

(Click the "Launch" under the "Free video" link below Jerry Orbach's picture. Then click the video for the "blame" story. Give it 30 seconds to run a commercial...that's how it's free).

That is ridiculous! Some will blame us no matter what happens, no matter the insane reasoning behind it. Who all here is guilty and made it happen with their evil thoughts? :grr:

I heard that last night and thought how sad it is that their lack of schooling and how impressionable they can be as to be able to believe that a country could cause such a thing. That re-enforced my belief of it being right to go into iraq. we need to get the proper education of facts driven into as many as we can over there. It has to be that or else they wouldn't believe such a thing.

Shyeah! I mean, at least give us some credit. If we *thought* it was at all possible to cause something like that with our "evil" thoughts, don't they think we'd at least get the geography right and cause a cave-in in Afghanistan or a slip-up with suicide bombers in Iraq who are arming themselves and before being near victims? (I wonder how many of those guys accidentally blow themselves up before they succeed in their "mission.")

The sad part is that the newspaper editors are not ingnorant but fanatics trying to fan the flames so to speak. I read somewhere they were blaming the Israeli's which is par for the course, but blaming Israel, the US and India is wierd. Why blame India?

India is on the list because they do not favor free elections in the disputed Kashmir region (between India and Pakistan), which is (according to Pakistan) predominantly Muslim.

this just points out that why it is good we are the kindest nation on earth, and these nations look to us for help, no amount of kindness we show will result in love for the united states

All of that bilge conveniently ignores the facts that a. the US hasn't done any nuclear testing for years and b. there's no way that a nuclear testign could release enough energy to cause such an event. Want nuclear tests? then blame India and Pakistan both for they are the only ones who have tested in the region recently.

I won't exactly say that...

However blaming the USA for a Earthqake is utterly outrageous.

Amazing people should stop planing up a bunch of plots and thoeries that goes against the USA. The press should be ashame of there selfs to try and blame the USA on everything.

Unfortunately, those losers are the type of people willing to fly Jet Airliners into high rise buildings.

That is the biggest point to be made in this instance I think. The Western world is so much more educated than so much of the third world or second world or whatever level you care to call it that there is, as in this instance, a total lack of understanding of how it all works. Unfortunately the despots, etc. that lead some of these countries for their own evil gain are much more educated(usually in the US)than their fellow countrymen and they take advantage of this for themselves to the detriment of millions of others not so fortunate sometimes.

Its ridiculous. I saw a thread similar to this on another board and they stated anything of this magnitude could not have resulted in tsunamis or earthquakes. I mean the US tested in the pacific on numerous occasions didn't they? And it didn't cause anything.
