know words can really describe it, can they? nothing seems adequate. sitting here as so many of us at storm2k do - near the beach - i can't even begin to fathom what it would be like if it happened here. scary

It is simply incredible how the beauty and tranquility of a tropical ocean in its normal state can be so amazingly turned into a force that leaves such phenomenal destruction. I remember how we were all amazed at what Ivan did to the Escambia Bay Bridge. I can't imagine what the ratio of comparison would be between Ivan's surge and this wave.
