Strange dreams?!

#1 Postby sunny » Fri Jan 07, 2005 8:20 am

I had a restless night last night, much on my mind. When I woke up this morning remembering my dream, I had to laugh at myself!

I went to a friends apartment a couple of doors down from me to ask her a question. Didn't go inside, cause I didn't lock my door and wanted to keep an eye out. I was only there a couple of minutes, but in that couple of minutes, someone managed to get into my place and take my entertainment center. Not just the electronics, mind you. The ENTIRE entertainment center! BUT I was more upset because they also took my Dooney hand bag and my disney checks!!

Silly dream, I know!

Sunny - I always try to explain my dreams the next day. Or understand why I had THAT crazy dream. LOL Most of the time it's easy to do. I know you have lots on your mind these days, understandably so. But are there thefts in your area right now? If there are, that might explain this dream.

We had a rash of robberies in my area - over 40, within 3 weeks of eachother. One literally 5 houses down the street from me. We have an email list on our street, receiving police updates. They instructed us not to put wrapped xmas gifts near a xmas tree, in plain view of the robbers. I didn't even wrap all our gifts until close to the 23rd! Anyway, this robber would enter back doors, brazenly, if the homeowner was home or not. Just breeze right past a person, looking for camcorders, digital camera's, answering machines, cash/wallets, sitting out. We all began putting valuables away even by a rear window. We were all on edge in this community! Long story short...they finally caught the guy. He had all the loot still at his house, he hadn't hocked it yet. But ever since then, my neighbors and I still lock our doors and imagine what a thief would see from our windows. I had what I thought was a good friend reprimand me for not wrapping my gifts, silly she said. Get an alarm system, set it and don't worry. Yeah, sure an alarm system is a drop in the bucket - uh huh....she didn't understand how nervous we all were on my street alone! Silly advice as if I had an extra $1,000 lying around for the alarm system......at xmas!

I do have neighbors down the hall that I am not real trusting of. A couple of times, while I am unlocking my door, I've turned around and the creepy guy is standing right behind me. He makes me nervous. So you are probably right Miss Mary!

Sunny - over the 10 day break, my family and I got decent sleep for a change (8+ hours a night). Heaven! A few times we slept in until 8! Woohoo.....even hubby's office was closed for a few days. Anyway, one morning right before we woke up, I had the strangest dream. We had big time problems at our wedding, some were in tuxes/bridesmaids dresses, some weren't. Standing on the altar in jeans. Then Mother Nature unleased something - tornado, severe storm - the roof began collapsing on the church. So much was going wrong! Jim looked at me in the dream and said well that's telling us something isn't it? LOL I woke up to see him next to me still asleep. Whew, bad dream alright!!! Nothing went wrong at our wedding either. But I said now why would I dream about THAT? Almost 19 years later? Crazy!!! I must have read about a wedding that went wrong from the tsunami or the big pre-xmas snowstorm that hit here.

Wow, that was a strange dream!! We have been have a lot of "gloomy" talk with the events of the world right now. Maybe that was a contributing factor. It's strange how our minds work!

You know, another part of my dream was even more strange. I am terrified of snakes. I can't look at them on tv, because I will have nightmares (I was trapped by a moccasin when I was a child.) I remember someone had a cobra around the neck with some sort of a "bar" or something, with a loop around it. YUCK!

It's amazing to think that we don't really remember many of our dreams as well. What interesting tales could we be missing?

My strangest dream when I was 12 going on 13 was when I saw a huge F5 tornado heading toward me. After the disaster was over, the apartments are still standing. Along with the church my family goes to, and my friends' houses.

Another weird dream was when I saw a huge Tidal Wave hurling in my vincinity. I then asked myself "A Tidal Wave in Northern Texas?" Then I realized that I was dreaming...again.
