On 1/11/2005 at 8:30 PM (the show is starting 1/2 hour earlier than we used to) we'll bring back the good old Talkin Tropics show.
We'll do a quick review on 2004 and look ahead to 2005. Seasonal predictions are already coming in so we'll be glad to talk about yours, Dr Grays or anyone elses that has been put out so far.
Also...we will introduce a new concept in Weather Talk Internet Radio...the Storm Vault.
As a preview...the way the storm vault work is this...during our show on any given week during the off-season...we will select one storm for the featured storm vault.
We will go into the 'vault' so to speak and drag out a storm from the historical archives...then discuss that storm from the day it developed to the day it dissipated...day by day...which should take up a good portion of the show. We'll analyize the NHC discussions (or the highlights of the forecast packages) and any other information that was availble at the time...ignoring for the moment that we know exactly what happened with each storm. In other words...we'll discuss the best information available at the time for each day as we work towards the end of the storm.
You can call in with what you were doing at the time...and what your thoughts were then...and we can also discuss what you or anyone could have done differently.
Basically...the vault concept is a detailed day by day break down of whichever storm we choose...we'll add as much in terms of experts and such for each storm...but hopefuly by now you get the idea. Please feel free to add on to this concept with any suggestions you think would be helpfull.
We'll discuss that on Tuesday...and start the Storm Vault the week after. Let me know which storm you want to cover...anything from 2004 will wait until later in the year (closer to 2005)...but which Storm of the 5 below do you want to discuss when we go into the Vault on 1/18/2005?

Hey James...I was a little worried that I didn't explain the concept well enough...
If you're asking about the show archives we are loading those up this week I think.
As for the Vault shows...for the 2004 storms as we get to those, we will most likely replay some of the highlights from the radio broadcasts from last season...but anything from before then won't have any direct audio. Instead we'll summarize the official information and read some key advisories...and hopefully talk to experts who experienced the storm and speak with folks who can share their experiences. If we can...especially on the later storms...we will load up the telestrator with satellite images of how storms have looked on each day etc. So while we will not have the benefit of a radio replay...we will discuss the storms as they appeared on that paticular day.
Does that help?
