Perhaps one of the mets here can check this out. Im not chasing phantom storms here but this low is trying to wrap convection around the center. And yes I understand that climatology is against any tropical cyclone development in that area..or elsewhere in the Atlantic basin, in January. This is an interesting looking system nonetheless

Well as of about 6am all the convection appears to off to the NE of the center and it appears that this system will remain purely cold core. Oh well it was fun watching it

Is a nice looking low with pretty strong winds but it is a deep layered cold core.
