...FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY NIGHT TO MONDAY MORNING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MELBOURNE HAS ISSUED A FREEZE WATCH.

THIS FREEZE WATCH INCLUDES ALL EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA COUNTIES.

A COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP THROUGH EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA EARLY SUNDAY
MORNING USHERING IN THE COLDEST AIR OF THE SEASON TO THE AREA.
TEMPERATURES WILL DROP QUICKLY BEHIND THE FRONT SUNDAY MORNING
WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 40S AND COLD WIND CHILLS WITH BLUSTERY
NORTHWEST WINDS.

NORTHWEST WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO USHER COLD AIR INTO EAST CENTRAL
FLORIDA SUNDAY NIGHT WITH LOW TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM THE MID 20S
ACROSS LAKE COUNTY TO THE LOWER 30S JUST NORTH OF LAKE OKEECHOBEE.
THESE LOW TEMPERATURES WILL BE THE COLDEST SINCE JANUARY 2003 ACROSS
MUCH OF EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

NORTHERN INTERIOR SECTIONS FROM METRO ORLANDO NORTHWARD MAY
EXPERIENCE A HARD FREEZE WITH 4 TO 6 HOURS OF FREEZING TEMPERATURES
ACROSS LAKE COUNTY AND INTERIOR VOLUSIA COUNTY. FROM ORLANDO TO
TITUSVILLE...3 TO 5 HOURS OF FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED.
FURTHER SOUTH FROM OKEECHOBEE COUNTY TO MELBOURNE AND VERO BEACH...2
TO 4 HOURS OF FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE POSSIBLE.

The expectations of very low relative humidity values, along with gusty winds (out of
the northwest) have prompted a Red Flag Warning for Monday, across all of central
Florida, as well.

Wasn't it just not long ago that the Florida folks here were crying cause its "so warm"...? j/k :D :D

have fun with your freeze...i've got 9 inches of "fluff" that i've had to shovel all day

Hopefully it comes in stronger than expected and we get some good cold down here. I want upper 20's!! At least it will feel like it with the wind.

yep, it's been indeed awhile since FL ha seen a freeze. Last major event I remember was reports of snow in Homestead,FL, in 1/23/03 and a blizzardc in Cape Hatteras,NC. My area experienced 29F in afternoon and low near 14F along with windgusts to 40mph and a dusting of snow accumulating about .1".

Wow, the temps have dropped 10 degrees in the past hour :eek: . Was 70 just at 10:30 now its about 60. They say the temps will continue to freefall throughout the day.

Its 32 this morning Tampa and now they are predicting another freeze for tonight. I wonder when the last time we had two freeze mornings in a row. WOW.
