#1 Postby cycloneye » Wed May 14, 2003 2:50 pm

Ok guys this thread will be about posting all your forecasts numbers to see which ones are right or are close to what will happen. You dont have to be an expert to participate because this is for rookies and not so rookies to have some fun this season. :D

At the end of the season we will see who will be right and maybe we can have a prize or prizes but that will be announced later.

If you want you may talk about why of your numbers but not be too long in your anaylisis.

Mines are 14/8/3

I came up with 12/7/2 a few weeks ago...just never publically released it. So what the heck...12/7/2. (I came up with this before Ana BTW.)

Well... I have been thinking on this for a while. And I do think that there is a potential for the initial number to be skewed from extratropical systems... so I will go 15/6/3.

Last time we did this was before Ana and I posted 13/8/5. With SST's seeming to warm earlier than normal(at least in the GOM)and a definite La Nina looking pattern setting up, I am going to go to 15/8/5 which includes Ana and any subtropical systems.

Hey Scott,

>>Vboutex=15/8/5

Assuming that's you (vboutex), that's a serious departure from your generally conservative forecasts. If you're going with 15/8/5, that tells me you're seeing a WHOPPER of a season. For all the people that have posted so far, the average season according to storm2k feedback is:

13.733 Named Storms
07.733 Hurricanes
03.267 Intense Hurricanes

That would make for quite a season.

Yes that is David Steve and he went up in his forecast because he sees many factors in favor of a very active season.

So far nobody has gone below 11 or close to average.
