The Storm2K Worldwide Tropical Update for 03 February 2005 at 1800Z.

Moderate Tropical Storm Noname (14S/MFR-12) (03/1800Z)
Position: 23.0S 58.1E (180 mi SSE of Port Louis, Mauritius)
Movement: SW at 8 mph
Winds: 55 mph
Pressure: 990 mb / 29.23"
Dvorak Est: T3.0/3.0

Today, MeteoFrance has upgraded 12R into a tropical storm. The system is really small, but has quickly intensified. However, the system is forecast to become extratropical over the next few days as it turns more southerly.

Tropical Cyclone Meena (15P/FMS-07) (03/1800Z)
Position: 14.2S 167.3W (230 mi ESE of Pago Pago, American Samoa)
Movement: E at 6 mph
Winds: 65 mph
Pressure: 985 mb / 29.09"
Dvorak Est: T2.5/2.5

Meena deepened quickly today and, according to the Fiji Met Service, is now a hearty tropical cyclone. Expect further intensification of Meena as the system tracks eastward.
