Lots of Tornadoes coming up this Spring

#1 Postby Planetsnow » Thu Mar 10, 2005 9:48 pm

It's just a guess from me based on the current amplified pattern, that should continue wel into Spring. With increasing warm and humid air into the mix across the midwest and dixie as well as frequent strong cold fronts from the north, the stage will be set for a record number of devastating tornadoes this spring across the midwest and south. I hope I'm wrong. If anyone disagrees, please fill in. I am basing this on the current pattern.

Weather on all fronts has been turbulent this year and I expect the Tornado season to be no different. Hopefully this hurricane Season isn't as tragic as it was in 2004. We all need a break. With the pinapple express in full force, plent of moisture to feed violent storms this upcoming tornado season. Stay safe!!

Ive been noticing the same thing. Not a good sign. If dew points and temps were just a bit higher we would be looking at an outbreak across eastern NC and extreme SE VA today. Due to strong upper level winds any storms that do develop may contain brief damaging wind gusts as these winds are transformed down to the surface. The pattern is setting up though for an increased threat of severe weather from the southern plains north to the midwest and east to the mid atlantic states. Something we will need to watch

I think things will crank up across much of tornado alley in about two and a half maybe 3 weeks.
