No rainband the enviroment is too hostil for anything to get going in the GOM as dry air and strong shear are present. But if it sits on those warm waters for many days then another will be the story. :)

We received some much needed rain from that system yesterday (6") here on the MS Gulf Coast. That is alot of rain for such a short time. But by evening, there was no evidence of rain. The grass soaked it right up.

Still spinning around... Due to the high up on the east coast the flow along the front is suppose to be E to W. does this mean the Low is going to move west?

I think it's going to move south..I think the flow out of texas in the upper levels is moving it south south east..It's kind of sandwiched between the features  I am by no means an expert just my take on it.. 8-)

The local weatherman here said it looks to be trying to move back to the west. He has now increased our chances for rain again.

What happened to my thread on this upper level low? :)

The upper level wind shear yesterday and shear tendency last night was actually low across the central and eastern Gulf of Mexico. I just looked a moment ago, too. Still low wind shear values.

This feature sure does have an upper level support, no mention or high enough chance of a mid to surface level low.

The upper level energy will move south right into the Yuctan before being absorbed.
