Since winter is over, it's time to move the Pacific Northwest thread to this section. I am sure we can make this every bit as successful as the last one!

Even though winter is over, I certainly hope there will be some more winter like weather to talk about!

I am increasingly intrigued by the possibilities of some really good mountain snows after the passage of the strong cold front Sunday night! Right now it looks like 850mb temps will drop to about -4 to -5C, with some very strong WSW winds aloft. This should pile up the snow pretty nicely in The Cascades on Monday.

The upper level flow trajectory on Monday will be favorable for the heavy showers and thundershowers to be south of Seattle! That's right folks...the convergence zone area will get snubbed this time. This flow pattern will favor very cool temps, and a downright nasty day for the areas south and east of Seattle.

The currently temperature is 39 F with 38 dewpoint. Most areas are in low 40s right now. I think that the temperature will only go up to upper 40s tomorrow. The mounatins should get a lot of snow like 10 inches before tmw night.

Wow, that would be nice. We haven't had a thunderstorm for what seems like years here. I hope this pans out as active weather for us, since we are both south and east of Seattle.

Well...We certainly came close today. A weak atypical convergence zone formed over south King County, but there was not quite enough moisture to get anything fired up. I am confident that the very end of this month and April will have ample opportunities for thunderstorms. Right now, April looks to be very active, cool, and wet!

As for the short term. I am very intrigued by the possibility of some record lows this week. If the nights are clear, they are going to be unseasonably cold!
