This came by way of the Moolah Temple (St. Louis, MO) Camel's Tales...
Actor Denzel Washington was visiting Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX; this facility is where soldiers, especially burn victims, are sent after evacuation to CONUS from Germany (note: burns are one of the specialties of the Shriner's Hospitals; many of the techniques now used to treat burns were first developed by Shriner's physicians).
Washington was given a tour of one of the "Fisher Houses", where the soldier's families stay for little or no cost while their loved one is being treated. BAMC has quite a few of these "Fisher Houses", but as one might imagine, they are almost completely filled most of the time.
Denzel asked how much one of these houses cost to build, and right then and there he wrote a check for the full amount!
Soldiers overseas were amazed to hear this story and want to get the word out to the American public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it.
I hope YOU will spread the word, too.
