Dust invades Caribbean

The African dust plumes that came out of Western Africa a week ago has reached the Caribbean with very thick haze causing gray skies in Puerto Rico and in all the islands of the Lesser Antilles and the Greater Antilles.This is another sign that the pattern has changed to the more typical summerlike one with the trade winds from the east and those transport the dust from Africa.

If there's one type of weather I don't like it's dust haze. That dust isn't harmless because it contains microbes that trigger asthma attacks in many people. It sometimes give me hay fever too. I hope it (the dust) clears up soon because it's pretty disgusting.

Yeah the same here.It is unconfortable when the haze is there.

yea, I don't like it either.
I feel like I can't breathe.
The trade winds may bring the dust but a little breeze does relieve the heat a little.

but we definitely got the 3 H's!

the temperatures are in the high eighties to low nineties.
the killer though is the heat index which often can be well over 100 degress if the humidity is high..which it usually is.

its like a Darwin or Brisbane are here.

i.e 32C / 90F with a humidity of 80%
