Will Bill S. 786 Pass?

#1 Postby cyclonaut » Thu Jun 02, 2005 5:24 pm

Please submit your fair & unbias vote.

I personally believe it will not!

I liked what Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida had to say about it.

Something to the effect of he does'nt know how people get their weather info in Pennsylvania, but there are times down here in Florida people need to have access to vital information instantly & free of charge!

I vote nay. It is more of a hopeful vote than a believing vote though--you never know what the folks in DC will do. Write! Write! Write! to the senators on the Senate Commerce Committee and tell them what you think!

My answer is no. I've live 53 years and I've never paid twice for the same item and I certainly would not like to start now.

Have you ever invested in stock using earned income that had been taxed, and then taxed again when you sold said stock?

What about the sales tax you pay for purchasing something using that income that had been taxed?

Double taxation and double charging is nothing new.

It's not going to pass in its current form. Senator Landrieu hates Santorum and Senator Nelson will fight him tooth and nail.

Damn panderer.

I say nope. Not that nutty legislation doesn't pass all the time, but I agree that this one should die in committee.

I sure as heck hope no. Becuase if it passes we can forget about tracking hurricanes in 2006. In storm2k will go the way of T.Rex.

Not gonna happen Rickey boy.......Santorum has to be off his rocker to think this would even have a glimour of hope. Boy its amazing what money will make you do. From my post on an earlier topic about this, let me say this about Santorum and Accuweather " :4: " Enough said!

That's the best emoticon EVAH.

Santorum is definitely off his rocker, and not just on this subject. But that is perhaps a topic for a different thread or S2K forum.

I certainly don't mean to be crude, but this has been bugging me since I first heard it a couple months back. Will really be relieved when it is finally dead. Then we can get on with the days our weather lives . We do need to keep watch on this, but I still don't think it has a prayer. IMO
