Excellent Hurricane Fair This Weekend

#1 Postby MWatkins » Sun Jun 05, 2005 11:37 pm

It's always good to talk with folks who like the things you do, but this weekend was special.

I met Mark Sudduth and Jesse Bass up at the Treasue Coast Mall in Jensen Beach on Saturday for the 11th annual Hurricane Fair there. For the first time I saw the HIRT Tahoe (impressive) and got my first peek at the insturment tower.

Despite a slight disagreement between Mark and Jesse regarding the use of duct tape, the weekend went well. Mark had 30 or 40 folks at the booth at any given time, and more than anything else I was impressed at the number of folks who just wanted to talk about their experiences from last year. It is not often that you get a chance to speak with folks who have been affected by 2 hurricanes in the same year, but these were all good people who just wanted to talk about what happend and what could happen this year.

I met Mary (a lurker here, hi Mary!) and SouthFLTropics (a regular poster), both from Storm2K and really nice people. I really enjoyed speaking with them and all of the other good folks from the area.

Thanks to Mark and Jesse for having me come up there this weekend (and for letting me run around with them this season), and to all of the good folks in the Stuart/Jensen Beach area.

I really enjoyed the day Saturday and it looks like that area of Florida is definately ready for this season.

Duct Tape is an essential item, no matter what the problem is!

All you need to fix most things is duct tape, biling wire, pliers, and WD-40.
