The Cortes Banks- Open ocean wave heights between 40-80ft

Here is some video of what actual wave heights of 40-80ft in the open ocean look like.

This was taken back in 2001, and at the very end of the footage, was at that time, the biggest wave ever rode- 66ft.

*Warning*

After the last image of the 66ft wave being rode and the credits begin to roll, there is some explicit language describing the incredible height of the wave. When you see the credits, just turn it off if this type of language offends you.

Cortes is the area that surfers are "looking" for the ulitmate... 100ft wave.

For tropical reasons, gives everyone a idea how truly large these waves can be.
