I really have my doubts about her ever being found. And her poor Mother keeps saying that she is not leaving Aruba without her daughter.

It's very difficult to hold onto positivity about this one, but miracles can happen.

Yes, they do as in the Elizabeth Smart case.

I believe they would have found her body by now(assuming she's dead).

There's always a chance for something amazing but this case just doesn't feel like it. A botched investigation, cars/homes of prime suspect wasn't searched until days after he was arrested and weeks after she disappeared, among other things.

I also voted yes, for some reason I have always believed she is still alive and off on some other island against her will.

I feel she may have been alive for a while, but...she's so much of a "hot potato" (and God help the malefactor who took her!) if found, that whoever had her found it expedient to "dispose" of her. :larrow:

I could be wrong.

I have a sick feeling the girl is dead...and there's been a massive cover up to keep the guilty parties from ever being punished for their crime (because the guilty party has connections...father who's a judge).

I watched Greta on Fox tonight. She was interviewing the mother and stepfather and was going around with the mother as she was going up to people on the street, and distributing prayer cards to businesses.

What struck me was the lack of emotion shown by the parents. The mother was going about in a businesslike way, talking to people. She answered Greta's questions in a very matter-of-fact way. Her attitude seemed to be one of getting this job done. There was no sense of anguish or even sadness. It seemed very strange. Either they are firm in their faith that things will work out, or they are so numb that they are not showing any emotion.

Did anyone else see this, and what do you make of it?

I see it as an angry determination...they've already seen false leads, people let go, detained/arrested far beyond the time they should have been, and absolutely NO information coming from the Aruba govt.

They are ticked off...and determined to find out what happened on their own, if it comes to that.

I felt the same way about her. She is showing no real "grief" or emotions, just businesslike determination. JMO!

I think it is the only way they can get through this ordeal. If they let the emotions get to them they wouldn't be able to function, and they have to. They have to get up every day knowing that their daughter is missing and they have to do everything in their power-going door to door, talking to police, putting up flyers, etc. That has to be so emotionally draining that they have to put their emotions aside.

My two cents...

I hope and pray they find Natalee one way or the other so this family can have some closure and begin to heal from this terrible ordeal.

There are children gone missing everyday... what makes Natalee's case different? Because it involves 2 countries... sadly, it seems that people give up easily on missing local children and head right for the American children missing overseas. There was a huge article in the local paper about missing and exploited children in the Wisconsin... Some missing for almost 20 years. Sad isn't it. Yes, the media was all over the case (Amber Wilde, Laurie Depies, etc) but that got old real quick... no answers, sorry we can't televise your story anymore. You can make arrests after arrests, but the abductors are machines... good luck getting them to break (its like the 2 1/2 men episode where growing up Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer could not get their on-show mother to break, but Angus T. Jones accomplished that in less than a day).

Unfortunately, I know these issues are not laughable issues. A matter of fact quite serious ones. Everyday we hear about new arrests in the case... I'm sorry but the 2 week 'alive' window is over. They all think they can get the results like the 'run-a-way bride' but that only happens in about 20% of the cases.

I just saw that. I admit, I've been REALLY bogged down with this merger, so I must have missed something, right?

He was questioned on Saturday for many hours and then released. Speculation seems to be he's involved in a coverup... that he knows exactly what happened to her but is protecting his son(he's a judge). I think this whole investigation has been partly covered up.
