Something to note...

#1 Postby Droop12 » Sat Jul 09, 2005 1:09 am

Before a million threads start popping up about every single wobble we need to realize we have a weakened hurricane that should unfourtnately start gaining strength soon so the center is prone to wobbles in all directions. I just noticed a wobble north after he came off the coast of Cuba, and after looking at a few more frames I expect dennis to start back to the NW due to the large area of convection he is about to wrap into the NE side of him, that should act to push him back on track. Isn't it common for hurricanes to "stair-step"?

I too agree, but the wobbles sometimes (rarely) turn into a real change in direction, and when the hurricane is so weak they can last and make relatively significant changes in the weather around here. Remember charley and how it was paralleling the coast and a little wobble changed everything? If dennis keeps this crap tomorrow may be a little wetter and windier than I expected.

Still, I fully expect the NHC track to verify.
