Dennis could land as far West as Pascagoula right now and we need to watch close because it could go even further West. He said the Bermuda High has moved in and is blocking a more Northerly direction. He said we really need to watch this system, but, he doesn't see a direct hit with New Orleans, although, it could come closer and we could easily see conditions that we had with Cindy earlier in the week (winds of 70 mph)...

Yes, and I was a huge Bob Breck fan. He made a grossly irresponsible mistake by blowing this storm off as a Florida system.

Agreed. This is the whole North Gulf Coast's system unfortunately.

I don't like him. I prefer Channel 4. They tell you like it is. And David Bernard and John Gumm always take deep concern for their people. Check them out on Channel 4 New Orleans forums. They really show concern and compassion. I don't really watch Bob Breck anymore except when I need a good laugh. He gets excited over stupid stuff. And does not seem to care when there is a need to do so. A lot of viewers stopped watching him after Lili. When he was screaming, saying if you don't leave Terrebonne Parish, now, get your body bags ready. I was at home during Lili when he made that statement. It was too late to leave. Luckily, she weakened and hit New Iberia. And our effects were minimal here in the Houma area.

Earlier someone suggested that if Dennis somehow hit New Orleans, Breck's flippancy would cost him his career.
If Dennis hits west of the MS/AL line, and/or New Orleans gets a lot more weather than expected, do any of you think that that situation would cost him his career or at least put a big dent in it? Just curious. I wonder how people who aren't weather watchers would perceive him after such a scenario.

I'm sure he'll blow it off as a "well, those tropical systems can be tricky"
and he'll point out Elena in 85.

Doubt it. He hedged his bets well enough at times with "don't let your guard down" stuff and wasn't that far off from what other local mets said. And I'm sure his idiocy draws viewers. That's the only reason I ever watch him.
