Yes... I am no doctor, but I do believe that the treatment usually does weaken the immune system. It seems that I read somewhere that it usually isn't the cancer that kills you, but some other ailment brought on by the weak immune system.
I wish him well, but he definitely has an uphill battle ahead of him.

It depends on whether or not the cancer has spread beyond the thyroid gland. Judging from his look, I would say that it has spread and metastied already. My thyroid cancer was caught before it spread beyond the thyroid gland. If Jusice Rheinquist is reciveing chemo therapy , it may weaken his immune system allowing a simple cold to become pnumonia.
