Local New Orleans columnist has funny story on how overblown the coverage was. http://www.nola.com/living/t-p/index.ssf?/base/living-5/1121403593198230.xml Favorite part:

Best dumb question of the day: Not surprisingly, from CNN's Larry King, to Max Mayfield, director of the National Hurricane Center:

"Max, why do they change directions?"

Mayfield, a consummate professional and gentleman, gave a brief answer that explained steering currents and a couple of other factors. But the look on his face told what he really wanted to say:

"There's only about 100 reasons, Larry, including the entire sciences of motion and force, not to mention meteorology -- does this show go into extra innings?"
