Road trip

#1 Postby sweetpea » Tue Jul 19, 2005 6:22 pm

Ok guys need a little bit (no alot) of help, hubby and I want to take a road trip next year. Probably about 3 weeks. We live in NE Florida, want to head out west. Definitely want to see things in New Mexico, Arizona (grand canyon), come up thru Utah and Colorado and head back to Florida. We have about 18 days. Neither one of us have ever done this. We have always flown. Any advice, what to see, where to go (be nice), cost saving tips, road traveling tips, would be greatly appreciated. If this helps we are in our mid to late 30's. Thanks for any help

Oh, one more thing best time to take a trip like this. We were thinking May or June.

May or June in the southwest??? I'd advise against it. If you havent checked, the temps are high in AZ and Utah that time of year. If you're driving, that's a high risk endeavor. Try September or October for the SW instead.

Plan way ahead for your Grand Canyon visit and try to get a permit to camp at the bottom of the canyon. It's not to be missed. Words simply cannot do this piece of geography justice.
