Severe Weather Reports

#1 Postby ohiostorm » Wed Jul 27, 2005 1:27 pm

The last few days have been disasterous here in the Ohio Valley. Severe very strong lines have severe thunderstorms have crashed into this area Monday and Tuyesday evenings bringing VERY heavy winds, rains, and dangerous lightning. Monday we had reports of winds in excess of 60 mph even reaching hurricane strength in some places. Widespread power outages all over the place. Tuesday, the same happened but this time it was worse. We didnt have very high winds here at my house but I've heard reports of winds near 80-90 mph with lots of damage to homes and trees uprooted. Power lines knocked down all over the place once again. American Electric Power is reporting almost 10,000 customers without power and soem not getting their services restored for some time. Several homes were damaged and the NWS is checking it out to determine if it was in fact straight line wind damage caused from microbursts. I'll report more whenever I get more info.
